Senior Fulbright Researcher, Aug. 2008 - April 2009
I am deeply grateful to You for the chance of having spent more than eight months in the USA at a time like this. It has improved my mind profoundly. It has made me a witness of a most memorable moment of change in the American history. I am happy to have shared the hope and enthusiasm of all my American friends at the presidential elections of November 2008.
Apart from my intellectual benefit from this prestigious grant, I have also cherished the live cultural experience of such a fascinating city as New Orleans. This is why I'm sending you some images of Mardi Gras in New Orleans, February 2009. The first picture shows the great musician Charmaine Neville (plus husband) in concert during the French Quarter Jazz Festival in April 2009. The last two photos represesent instances of the Zulu Parade at Mardi Gras.
I know I ought to make much more of this privileged experience and write a book about it. It's just that I don't know how to start.
The only right beginning is a great Thank You for it all.
