Ethnicity and Gender Debates

Ethnicity and Gender Debates

Ludmila Martanovschi, coordinator of the American Studies Program at Ovidius University, Constanța and Fulbright awardee twice, announces the release of a new collection of essays, “Ethnicity and Gender Debates. Cross-Readings of American Literature and Culture in the New Millennium” (Peter Lang Publishing), co-edited with Tatiani G. Rapatzikou, Artistotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

The volume is a truly international project, as testified by the background of the contributors: Barbara A. Nelson and Marianne B. Woods (USA); Carmen Birkle (Germany); Constantine Chatzipapatheodoridis and Angeliki Tseti (Greece); Elisabeth Boulot and Lea Stephan (France); Noelia Gregorio Fernández and Aitor Ibarrola-Armendariz (Spain); Raluca Andreescu, Ileana Jitaru and Iuliana Vizan (Romania); Jiachen Zhang (China); Pi-hua Ni (Taiwan). Having been presented at the European Association for American Studies Conference held in Constanța, the essays “underline the vibrancy as well as complexity that characterizes the study of American literature and culture in the twenty-first century with regard to the exploration and understanding of ethnicity and gender”.
