“Looking for Home” Performance @ Fulbright Commission

On November 22, from 5:30 p.m., the Romanian – U.S. Fulbright Commission hosted a special event – a play arranged and directed by Fulbright Scholar Domnica Rădulescu, starring BA and MA students within the American Studies program at the University of Bucharest.

The play, titled “Looking for Home”, consisted in a collage of scenes from works by Caryl Churchill, Domnica Rădulescu, Saviana Stănescu, Heather Raffo and Aglaja Veteranyi, all revolving around the themes of home/homelessness, exile and belonging, ever more topical in the context of the current refugee crisis. The amateur cast delivered powerful and moving performances.

The event was part of the American Culture Week, co-organized by the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, the Romanian – U.S. Fulbright Commission and the University of Bucharest. You can see more pictures from the performance on our Facebook page.
