Michael S. Jones’ Book on Blaga

Metafizica religiei – Lucian Blaga și filosofia contemporană (tranlsated by Geo Savulescu and Dominic Georgescu, Editura „Self Publishing,” Bucharest), the Romanian version of Dr. Jones The Metaphysics of Religion: Lucian Blaga and Contemporary Philosophy (Madison, NJ: Farleigh Dickenson University Press, 2006) was made available to the Romanian public in September 2014.
After spending a year in Romania and often returning as a visitor, Michael „Mihai” Jones is now a Fulbright Senior Scholar at the University of Bucharest, teaching and continuing his Lucian Blaga project by translating the famous Romanian philosopher’s work into English. This will benefit English-speaking philosophers by making Blaga’s philosophy accessible in their language and benefit U.S.-Romanian cultural relations in general.

The Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission was present, once again, at the fall edition of the Romanian International University Fair (RIUF), in Bucharest, Timişoara and Iaşi. We took advantage of this opportunity to spread the news about Fulbright grants for Romanian citizens and the services offered by the Fulbright Educational Advising Center/FEAC, thus reaching out to a wider pool of potential applicants. An average 800 visitors stopped by our booth during the two days of the fair in Bucharest and over 500 in Timişoara and Iaşi, eager to learn more about the undergraduate and graduate application process and financial aid opportunities in the United States.
