Jennifer Gable - US Fulbright Grantee 2009-2010, Transilvania University in Brasov
“The American Culture Club at Transilvania University aims to inform and inspire the Brasov community about everything American! We hold one or two events every month. Most of our larger events revolve around famous American holidays, including Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Martin Luther King Day. We threw a great Halloween costume party and held a historical re-enactment of the "real" Thanksgiving (a story not often told). We also screen films, hold presentations and debates, and invite guest speakers from around the country.

Junior Fulbright Grantee 2008-2009, Public Relations, Ball State University
Dear Fulbright Applicants,
The first days of December remind me of the feelings I had last year, while waiting for Fulbright Commission’s answer on my application, and of all the questions I had in mind. Above all, there was always the “What it would be like” question.

Fulbright Junior Grantee 2009-2010, Education, Vanderbilt University
I see Fulbright as a platform where innovative ideas are encouraged, debates are facilitated and critical thinking as well as reflection is much valued. And what a great chance for a curios person who rather prefers to ask questions than to have all the answers! Being a Fulbrighter is a privilege. It is also a great responsibility to use this privilege in a valuable way for my personal and professional growth, for the community I belong to and for my country.

Fulbright Junior Grantee 2008-2009, 2nd year Master's student in Visual Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill
Fulbright and UNC have given me the unique opportunity to study in one of the top journalism schools in the world. Taking part in a revolutionary multimedia program has allowed me to not only acquire extremely useful skills and knowledge in class, but also to work on projects such as News 21, a Carnegie-Knight initiative promoting new forms of journalism. As one of the students selected for the News 21 team at UNC, I have contributed to the Powering a Nation project (poweringanation.org), where I worked with a fantastic group of instructors and colleagues, being able to use and develop my journalism and multimedia design abilities. The project has already received widespread acclaim in the journalistic community, and was awarded the second place in the National Press Photographers Association's multimedia contest in August 2009.
